Much to say about these..!
a good amount of my time SWLing is spent listening or trying to find number stations. I have made a handful of observations and taken some recordings, and i've collected a few snipets of information that i wish to put here. i'll try to upload what i can and hopefully these pages can be informative :)
for more, i highly recommend these websites
To anyone reading this section, i'll answer a few questions you might have
if you want to get a start into number stations, I would first redirect you to the websites above. Then, give some advice: some stations do not run on a strict schedule and would require you to search through the HF spectrum to find them. A common mistake I've seen a lot of newbies make is reporting meteorological stations as number stations, specifically the Bangkok Meteorological Radio for its interval signal.
A quick way to differentiate between the two, even if you don't speak the language, is to listen for words like "meters" or "visibility". Some SDRs label these stations (and others) too. Also, I heard that listening to number stations is illegal in the UK. Just putting that out there... And if anyone is wondering, I'm not British ;)
Now, to answer anyone thinking "WTF is this" -- Although this subject is definitely a bit odd, it's a subject that interests me. The unknown is interesting, and is to many people
Lastly, if anyone wants to submit information or otherwise just contact me... I'll try to set up something for that. :)
